FDSA Harvey Studio boys U12 Div 1 beat Grand Falls 2-0 Sunday at waterloo row field. The goal scorers were Corey McMinniman and Aiden Keighley, and Jason Kennedy had the shutout.

The FDSA U18 CAPS won the first provincial soccer title of the year defeating Chaleur 1-0 on a goal by Amir Razak and shut-out goalkeeping by Luke Olmstead.  It was a deserved victory for the gold and black who played excellent team defence and created enough chances to make the scoreline more convincing.

Razak scored with an overhead kick 25 minutes into the first half following a Frankie Daddurno corner.  Elliott Hicks almost made it two when he raced clear, lobbed the keeper but watched the ball drop just wide of the post.  The CAPS defence of Ray Harris, Connor McCarthy, Mitchell Stewart and Charles Dupplessis kept Chaleur's usually productive offence to long range efforts that failed to trouble Olmstead.

In the second half Jason Rouse almost put the game away with a narrow miss from a Rory Keys pass. Then, at the 75 minute mark, Frankie Daddurno had the bench on its feet when he connected with a Patrick Burtt pass, but again the ball skipped just wide.

Chaleur began to throw men forward in a desperate attempt to equalize, but good forward play by Jeff Khoury made sure that Chaleur could not set up their attacks.  While there were a few nervous moments, the CAPS saw off the threat to emerge as U18 champions for the second straight year.

The CAPS will travel to Vaughn, Ontario for the nationals around thanksgiving weekend.
