Several thousand people were on the streets this evening for the annual Santa Claus parade.

We put a dozen pages of our photos online, have more for tomorrow, and are hoping that some of our members and visitors will send in their digital pictures.

Starting and running a business is tough. Getting the word out is one of the hardest parts. Which is why many businesses join the Chamber of Commerce.

The Fredericton Chamber - through its motto 'See a member first' - is supposedly there to help members do business with each other, and to generally promote the local business community.

But thanks to a stunning decision by the Chamber's leadership, the company getting the biggest promotional effort aimed at the local membership isn't based in Fredericton. It's not even in New Brunswick. It's in Peterborough, Ontario.

We were sooo excited about launching justFRED last week - and watching the membership and the traffic grow. So it was a real stunner when first Enterprise Fredericton and then the Chamber of Commerce announced their partnership with YLM.ca of Peterborough, Ontario, to launch a competing site.

Graham Hill of Hanwell and Josephine Toole of Oromocto are our grand prize child and adult winners in the Winter Wonderland 2006 passport contest.
